Many of our physicians in this nation see Pregnancy as a medical condition.
For some women, it is. It can be a very challenging and difficult time.
For some, pregnancy is just an added dimension to their training.

What are you Reading?

Just as it is important to train the body (CrossFit) and nourish it with food...preferably Paleo or Zone eating plans, it is also important to train the mind.
I am not just talking about novels, magazines, comics, or self-helps either.
Books should
1. Broaden your World
2. Challenge your Mind
3. Touch your Heart
4. Improve your Skill
Below you will find a less than comprehensive list of books hat will help with the above 4 statements

I saw the movie of this one...interesting...I look forward to the read
Total Money Makeover

The World Is Flat. Book looks at globalization and it's impact

The Traveler's Gift
The Lost Choice
Island of Saints
The Way of the Wild Heart
Wild at Heart
The Davinci Code
(don't believe all he says, but interesting nonetheless)
As I said, this is not a comprehensive list of all the books you should read, they all can challenge, broaden, touch and improve part of you.

Anyone here like Flip Flops?

The USA and Great Britain have the highest number of people wearing...of all things--shoes.
Interesting fact is that we also have the highest rate of foot problems in the world also.
I suppose that is a good thing if you are a podiatrist, orthopedic surgeon, back specialist, or shoe salesman.
You see, the feet are the first link in a bio mechanical chain that affects everything about our movement. Just like any machine, if the mechanics are ''out of whack'' long enough, there is bound to be problems elsewhere in the body.
Follow the link below for an interesting article on flip flops
I have been trying to where my shoes less this summer and believe me, I love how the ground feels under my feet when I go places without shoes. If you can get past the stigma of the need to wear shoes, then see how long you can go without wearing them.

I have linked to another article that is somewhat of a long read, but well worth the time. This article is what changed my thinking about shoes and how much I wear them.

Gestational Diabetes!!

Ok...so here the first post. I am a first born and I tend to want to control things and do whatever the task is on my own. Thankfully, I am getting past this as I get older and will not re-invent the wheel here.
Follow the link below to one of my favorite CrossFitters'---hands down, one of the smartest people I have ever met. Robb Wolfe is an excellent CrossFit coach, a tremendous communicator in both the written word and speaking. Robb is a strength & conditioning coach, and formerly a research biochemist, living in Chico, CA
He is also the owner of CrossFit NorCal
He is very direct in this post, but gives some great information about Gestational Diabetes.

Leading Provider of Health and Wellness!!
It is CrossFit Legacy's goal to become the leading provider of health and wellness services in the Northeastern Ohio area. That is why--starting today, I am launching CrossFit Legacy Health and Wellness.
I will post to this regularly...maybe not everyday, but consistently. I want my athletes and those considering becoming a CrossFit Legacy athlete to have the very best information and latest research on nutrition, supplements, diets, exercise, and health and wellness topics.
Ever heard of a "yes man"? I know a lot of people like that. Most trainers are satisfied with clients/athletes that simply agree with everything they say. Most trainers don't want to be challenged by their athletes/clients.
I say, "If you are unwilling to be asked the tough questions by your client/athletes, then you are not confident in who you are, or what you are doing as a trainer."
I want you to challenge me, and ask the difficult questions regarding exercise, fitness, health, wellness, and life. If I do not know the answer, I will do my best to find it.
Stay tuned for the first post to this section of the website.
Have a great day everyone!!
